One Saturday my husband asked me if I would like to go for a ride knowing that I needed to get away for the day. Yes was my quick answer and then he asked me where I would like to go, so I had to think about that. I remembered a brochure a friend had given me about a place called Filoli Gardens in Woodside http://www.filoli.org/. That's where I'd like to go! I love beautiful gardens!! So we were off! When we got there they had a very nice visitor center with a cute restaurant and they just happened to have a calligraphy art show that day with the artists there! I also just love calligraphy! So what a double surprise!
So, as much as I loved the gardens, this was the best part of all, the art exhibit with calligraphy and the artists and when I saw what this one said, I couldn't even speak, as I was so choked up.
You see my heart was aching, I had had a huge burden and had been praying for those that I love so much! My heart was broken and heavy. When I saw this very interesting artwork and began to read it, God began to speak to my heart! It's like He read it to me! All I could so was read it and literally weep! I was a mess and it was a good thing I had sunglasses on. I couldn't even talk. After some time I finally was able to somewhat pull myself together and met the artist. She explained to me how it came about and could see it meant so much to me and so could my husband. As we left the art center and walked the gardens, they were just beautiful - a reflection of the One who created them and his love for us. I was still overwhelmed with God's presence and couldn't get that picture off my mind and what had been and was still being spoken to my heart ~ Trust Me - the one who created you and all that I see and don't see, the one who loves you and cares about you and everyone else! The one who answers prayers, the way He chooses to answer, trust!...
This is what is written on this piece of art, it's what the Lord spoke to Job (and to me that day):
"Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the whirlwind, and said, who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the earths foundation? Tell Me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, ...or who laid its cornerstone while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, when I said: “This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt? Have you ever given orders to the morning or shown the dawn its place that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?" Job 38:1-13 (CSV)
My husband bought me this beautiful picture that day. I love it and it hangs in my home. God is so good and his love is amazing! I am forever grateful for his love for me. I'm thankful that he never gives up on us! I'm also so thankful that he still speaks to us today!
