A Gift in Disguise
For 12 days now I've had to sit around with my left foot propped up as I had to have foot surgery. One of my prayers going in was that I would feel good emotionally after the surgery as pain has a way of draining a person and I didn't want to feel down. Well I can say that that prayer was answered. I've been doing what the doctor said, for the most part, and I have not had much pain at all, so that has helped.
I've been able to catch up on some reading, work on some crafts that I enjoy (beading, crochet, and knitting). I was able to read until noon today, uninterrupted and journal. I have really enjoyed the feeling of "no guilt" while I sit for hours doing these things that I love to do! I know there's a lesson in that for me. One thing is that it's so important to give myself time and space to read or be creative and take as long as I need to. I've also had some great reflection time. To say the least its been like a retreat or a "stay"cation! I feel like my soul is being refreshed while my other sole is healing.
