Play Me, I'm Yours

That's what the piano had written on it that this young man, a prodigy, played at the St Pancras station in London (click on the link below).  He just began playing AMAZINGLY as people stood by waiting for their train.  Some took notice, some just stood there like nothing was going on at all, most didn't even tap their foot that I could see to this awesome music that was being played.  I have enjoyed watching this video a few times now in amazement.  And it also speaks to me of the way that the Creator plays His amazing song of love for us and so many don't even hear it. This great NEWS that we are loved and have hope for today and all eternity and our ears are plugged, our eyes dim, our hearts hardened.  Yet, in each of us there is this longing for more, to hear how much we are loved, to have an inner peace, to know that God knows who you really are, how wonderful He created you and desires to spend time with you, to relieve the guilt and let you know that it's been taken care of, by His Son, Jesus Christ.

Always Hope!

This plant in my office is flourishing! And to think back about 7 yrs. ago it was very scraggly and ugly, so I cut it back to about 1 inch above the soil and watered it to see if it might come back or not. I really didn't have much hope for it, but I think it speaks for itself! It reminds me of the times in my life when I have gone through huge challenges. I have had the opportunity to grow and with God's help and amazing love it was possible!

The Invitation

This morning for some reason my as my mind wandered to the past, I thought about a cousin and her husband.  Her husband worked for my father and she and my mom had a special relationship.  They had the cutest baby girl.  She had strawberry blond hair and was always smiling and happy.  I enjoyed having them live close by and playing with my little cousin and watching her grow for a short time.   Due to the loss of my family they moved away and we lost touch.  This was almost 40 years ago so why would she come to mind now?  Maybe God was putting the desire and idea on my heart to try to locate her through facebook.  I thought this might be a challenge, but she was the first one to pop up when I typed in her name!  I asked if she was the daughter of my cousin and her husband and got a response right away, “yes”.  I typed in a brief description of who I was, her 2nd cousin and a little of what I remembered about her and invited her to begin to get to know each other as adults.  She hasn’t responded yet, but I am patient and know that I have things to offer her in relationship and would love to just take it a step at a time, but it’s her choice. I hope she chooses to say yes!  She is “family” and I desire to know my family and be a blessing to them.  You never know, it might be just what her heart needs.
This reminds me of another invitation that I just read about this morning from my heavenly Father.  He invites me and you into relationship, to a banquet table, a place to sit together and share my deepest thoughts and questions, to be fed in spirit, and to get to know him more.  By knowing him more I know more of who I am as well.  He loves us more than we can imagine and longs for us to respond!  If we do, we can begin to experience wholeness, new life and so much more.  You see, He knows who I am, all about me and amazingly still loves me and offers me life.  And He longs for me and you to begin to know who He is.  He invites us to relationship, pretty amazing, a relationship with the creator of the universe!  How will you respond to The Invitation.  I desire to continue on this journey, I hope you'll join me.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord.”  Jeremiah 29:11
Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”  Matthew 6

I wrote this a couple of years ago and thought that I would add it to my new blog site.

I baked my grandson a Ghirardelli fudge cake for his birthday and forgot to put flour in the cake pans.  Needless to say it crumbled when I took it out!  I was so upset, but right away I had an idea!!   I made it into a layered cake with dark chocolate whip cream and chocolate shavings and it was the best dessert I've made yet.  Like our lives, God takes the brokenness when we give it to him and because of His grace we become a new creation in Christ!

What’s Your Name?

Do you ever find yourself with part of a song swirling through your mind, singing it over and over?  Well that happened to me again last night, I was singing – What's your name? Who's your daddy? Is he rich like me? from “Time of the Season” by the Zombies.  I just kept singing those lines, over and over.  Finally, I thought why is this going through my mind?  Then out of nowhere or maybe somewhere from deep within, I began to answer those questions – my name is Cindy, child of the Most High God!  My daddy is my Abba Father, Creator of the universe, lover of my soul!  Is he rich like me?  He owns it all!  Your riches can’t even compare to His riches, not only does he own it all, he is rich in mercy, rich in love and grace.  He is God and no one can compare to him.

After that came gushing out of my heart I was reminded of a time about 30 years ago when I was driving along telling God my troubles and feeling very cheated in life, and rightfully so I thought.  You see when I was 18 years old, my 16 year old sister and I lost both of our parents, and our 14 year old brother and 12 year old sister as our small aircraft went down one rainy night near Vacaville, CA.  We lost it all in an instant; our family, the love and security of that family, our home, my father’s lucrative business and all rights to his inventions… cheated.  So, as I drove along that day complaining to God, He spoke this to me – “I Am your Father and I will provide all that you need”.  It’s been a long journey since that day that He told me He was my father, with many ups and downs, and he has been there for me, even when I forgot who I was, His child.  He is faithful.  My identity is that I am God's child and He will always provide everything that I need in this life and in the life to come!  Can I ask:  What’s your name?  Who’s your daddy?  If you’re uncertain, just listen, I think He might be calling your name.
